Missions

Rev. John and Susan Mehl serve God as His missionaries in Asia, based in Hong Kong. John is the regional director for Asia and works with church and mission partners to establish priorities and develop a comprehensive strategy for global mission outreach in Asia. He also provides for the development and support of the mission teams and the individual missionaries throughout the region.

Beginning in 1993, the Mehls served as missionaries in Russia, and from 2000, John served as an area director for the commonwealth of Independent States and the Baltics. Most recently, from 2004 till 2006, John served as regional director for Eurasia while livingwith his family in Frankfurt, Germany.

John was born in Lexington, Mo., and grew up in Concordia and Blackburn, Mo. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies and humanities from Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mich. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis,Mo., in 1985.Susan (Lange) was born in St. Louis, Mo., and grew up in Kirksville and Cape Girardeau, Mo. In 1981, she graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind,with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Susan cares for their three children, Katrina, Louisa, and Theodore, and supports John in his work.
